We have carefully acquired what we consider to be the absolute best equipment not-crypto-millionaires lower financial echelon scroungers can get their hands on. This of course required a ton of research and a willingness to avoid trends and think differently.

The soundboard: APB Dynasonic Spectra T24i

Recording to: Alesis HD24XR (modified by Jim Williams – Audio Upgrades), straight to Cubase as needed.

EQ: A-Designs HM2EQ tube EQ – professional grade EQ for mixing and mastering

FX: Sony MU-R201 Reverb, MXR M-175 Delay, Korg-SDD 2000 Delay

Compression: Dangerous Music Compressor as used on many platinum selling hits including pop, rap and rock music.

Mics: Audo Technica AE2500, Oktavia MK319, Oktavia MK012, Shure SM57/58, Rode NT1 (1990’s)

Playback: AR Rock Partners passive speakers, Assorted headphones (Sony, etc.)

This might not sound like much, but each item listed above is highly regarded in the industry. Do a search if you don’t believe me.

We use Cubase Pro via a RME Digiface light-piped from the Alesis HD24XR. We have a large assortment of ITB plugins (Elysia Alpha, Shadow Hills, Townhouse, virtual channel strips by Neve, Lindell, the list goes on).
